Director

Monique Meloche Gallery is seeking an experienced Gallery Director. This is a multifaceted leadership role in a close-knit environment, which requires the ability to work well independently and with others on a variety of projects and tasks of varying sizes and timelines. The gallery is in an exciting forward-looking moment of program development, so the right candidate will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing contemporary art gallery specializing in emerging and mid-career artists.

Requirements:
-Previous experience with sales and artist management at a contemporary art gallery or similar arts space, including some experience in a supervisory capacity.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to draft, design and format press releases and exhibition materials
-Demonstrated experience managing/overseeing a robust exhibition program
-Punctual, proactive, and detail oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills
-Capacity to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines
-Proficiency in Art Logic or similar collections management software strongly preferred
-Bachelor’s degree with a background in art history, fine arts or a similar field required; Master Degree a plus
