Studio Manager

Marfa, TX based artist seeks a part-time studio manager to take on administrative and
organizational responsibilities associated with their growing studio practice. The ideal
candidate will work closely with the artist, and will be comfortable communicating with
representatives from international arts institutions and industrial fabricators alike. This role is suited to a highly-motivated, self-starter, with strong organizational and people skills. This position is remote and part-time. Minimum one full day weekly with increased hours coinciding with exhibitions. Paid hourly, rate depending on experience.

Studio Manager Responsibilities
-Introduce organizational systems for the smooth operation of the studio and manage work flow and calendars
-Management of inventory and database
-Oversight of multiple projects, working in tandem with the Artist’s galleries and institutional
partners.
-Assist with renderings in Google Sketch Up and Photoshop.
-Manage fabrication schedules, including material orders, and making shipping
arrangements. This may require travel to visit fabricators and suppliers.
-Assist with travel arrangements.
-Calendar management: coordinate travel dates, exhibition timelines, and general
scheduling.
-Liaise with galleries and institutions to manage consignments and loans, acting as a lead
contact with registierial departments.
-Help with accounting and invoicing.
-Manage studio inventory, order supplies, and track gallery consignments.
-Build and maintain a comprehensive bibliography and database of images
-Assistance with research and development for future projects.
-Basic bookkeeping

Studio Manager Qualifications
-Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Thorough knowledge of contemporary art, and/or woodworking.
-A 4-Year Degree in Studio Art, Architecture, Art History, or equivalent work experience in a
related field required, a masters degree is a plus.
-3+ years of administrative experience in a professional environment.
-Experience working with vendors, and invoicing for services.
-Fluency with Google SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, GSuite, and Microsoft Office.
-Valid driver’s license required.
-Full Covid-19 vaccination required.
-Candidates would be expected to work in-person 3 days per week. Compensation
commensurate with experience.
